Dear Dr. Everett,

On behalf of the “Facility Naming and Dedication committee,” please accept three names
submitted by the committee with the corresponding statements as per Meridian School
District Policy.

The opportunity to participate on the committee and/or submit a name for consideration
was posted on our school district website and emailed out to all our families through
Parent Square. On February 26" the openings on the committee were filled by interested
community, staff, alumni, parents and students.

The committee met on March 12th to start the process. A tour of the north gym was given
as well as historical context regarding the construction of the north gym and the history
of Meridian Athletics. Near the conclusion of our 1“ meeting names were collected and
discussed. A handful of names separated themselves from the rest and the group decided
to solicit opinions from the community amongst our circles. The information was to be
collected and presented to the group at the next meeting.

On April 18" the committee met once more and information was presented to the group
regarding public opinion. The meeting notes and information can be found on the
Meridian School District website.

On Behalf of the committee, we thank the Superintendent and the School Board for the
opportunity to participate in submitting possible names for the Board’s consideration.
