A regular meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Monday, October 28, 2024, in
the Administrative Service Center Board Room and was available for live streaming.
President Lynn Goebel called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. and led the flag salute.

Board members Lynn Goebel, Jessica Aws, Nicole Tesch, Sharon Jensen, and Josh
MacLean were present. Student board representatives Maggie Litvachuk and Allena
Locklear were present.

The agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.

Director Jensen moved to approve the consent agenda. Vice President Aws seconded
the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

through 276035; General Fund ACH warrants 242500002 through 242500003;
Capital Projects Fund #0 (Non-Bond) warrants 276036 through 276038;
Associated Student Body warrants 276039 through 276054; Associated Student
Body ACH warrants 242500004 through 242500006; all totaling $999,052.07.
Payment of general fund warrants issued October 17, 2024, as follows: General
Fund warrants 276055 through 276058 totaling $12,779.95. Payment of Capital
Projects Fund #0 (Non-Bond) warrant 276059 issued October 25, 2025, totaling
$731,722.45.

Assistant Superintendent Dwight Lundstrom, sitting in for Superintendent Dr. Michelle
Kuss-Cybula, presented information on the upcoming levy, recent groundbreaking
ceremonies, Trunk-or-Treat event, and the current bus driver shortage.

Student Board Representative Maggie Litvachuk spoke about upcoming district events,
a cyberpatriot class at HomeConnection, her participation at the Hand-in-Hand Early
Learning Center/HomeConnection groundbreaking ceremony, and a recent ASB
meeting. Student Board Representative Allena Locklear reported on the ASB senate
application, robotics competition, and a canned food drive at Oak Harbor High School.

Hillcrest Elementary School Principal Paula Seaman recognized her English Language
Arts, Math, and Social Emotional Learning teams for their work since the start of the
school year.

Special Programs Director Rebecca Washington recognized Hillcrest Elementary School
Principal Paula Seaman for her work with her teams in the service of students.

Chief Financial Officer Amber Porter presented the September 2024 Financial Report.

Assistant Superintendent Dwight Lundstrom presented board policy updates as a first
reading.

Director Tesch is looking toward the upcoming Legislative Sessions in 76 days. She
reminded the board of the district Legislative Forum on December 5, 2024.

Director Jensen commented that a transfer suggestion to the committee may be
coming next month, and the winter coalition will be meeting at the end of January.

Director Jensen spoke about the groundbreaking ceremonies. Director Tesch mentioned
3-by-3 basketball, the groundbreakings, Mr. Oak Harbor, and the Oak Harbor High
School instructional review. President Goebel commented on the high school
instructional review and the groundbreaking ceremonies.

Assistant Superintendent Dwight Lundstrom highlighted the Trunk-or-Treat event which
was the first combined PTA/district event of its kind and thanked Communications
Officer Sarah Foy for her work on this event, as well as the groundbreaking ceremonies.

Regular meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, and Monday, November 25,
2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Administrative Service Center (ASC) Board Room. The annual
Retiree Lunch is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the ASC
Board Room.

The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
