1. Call to Order - James A. Craig called the statutory/regular meeting of the Boone County Board of Education to
order.

1.1 The meeting was called to order by James A. Craig. (If the person who was the board's president at the end of June is still a
board member on July 1, he or she should preside at the July 1 meeting until the board elects a president for the next two

years.)

1.3 Pledge of Allegiance - Anthony J. Tagliente, Assistant Superintendent, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Purpose of Statutory Meeting

To administer the "Oath of Office" to the newly elected board members, to organize the board, and to administer the "Oath of
Office" to the member elected president of the board. (WV Code 18-5-1b and 1c)

3. OATH OF OFFICE

3.1 Kimberly D. Duty, Board Member - July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2028

The ceremonial "Oath of Office" was administered to Kimberly D. Duty by Penny A. Green, Executive Secretary/Notary, the Bible
was held by Bradi Duty, her daughter, in compliance with W.Va. Code 18-5-3.

4.1 Mr. Craig opened the floor for nominations for board president to serve a two year term.

Barry Brown nominated Mr. Craig for president of the board. Mr. Gibson seconded the nomination. No other nominations were
received. All members voted for James Craig for president.

4.2 Oath of Office - President (Two year term}

The "Presidential Oath of Office" was administered to James A. Craig by Penny A. Green, Executive Secretary/Notary, the Bible
was held by Charles J. Gibson, member, in compliance with W.Va. Code 18-5-3.

This policy can be approved at a first reading based upon Boone County File: BDC "Boone County School Board Policy Process"
Section 5.1 which states "Upon a unanimous vote of the five members of the Board, the Board may waive the second reading of
the policy proposal when it is in the best interest of the school system."

Schools to reduce the incidence of oral disease and improve the oral health and general health of children receiving these
services.

10.13 Updated Stipend Pay for School Referral Agents

Approved the proposal submitted by Angel Kennedy, Director of Exceptional Children, to update the stipend pay for school
referral agents,

Proposed:
* Base Pay: $1,000 to be paid in two installments (one per semester).
* Schools with more than 250 students: Increase the stipend to $1,200, also paid in two installments (one per semester).

Responsibilities of Referral Agents:
e Chairing and scheduling meetings for all the students in the school in the SAT process. Providing correct intervention logs

to the DEC to begin a Special Education Referral. Providing other critical paperwork needed by the DEC before and after a
student is referred for a Special Education evaluation and placement, including attendance reports, current and past
behavior logs, discipline reports, classroom interventions provided by the teacher, etc.
