(SLENVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY Grow Your Own WV - Teaching Pathwa Students who wish to participate in the Grow Your Own WV - Teaching Pathway will begin taking courses in the fall of their junior year of high school. Students will take courses either face-to-face at their high school or enroll in online dual credit courses. The GYO pathway is comprised of 24-30 credit hours, giving students who wish to become teachers the opportunity to earn one year of college credit prior to graduating high school at no cost to them. In collaboration with WV HEPC (Higher Education Policy Commission), WVDE (West Virginia Department of Education), and Glenville State University, students participating in the GYO pathway will receive all required textbooks at no cost to them. As participates of the GYO pathway students will receive the following benefits: e Free Tuition e Free Textbooks Rentals Students enrolled in the Grow Your Own WV- Teaching Pathway will be advised by the Director of Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit - Rachel Clutter. Grow Your Own WV - Teaching Pathway (e) Requirements EDUC 203 - Foundations of Education (3 Credits)* EDUC 205 - Educational Psychology (3 Credits)* EDSP 220 - Introduction to Educating Exceptional and Culturally Diverse Students (3 Credits)* CSCI 267 - Computer Skills for Education (3 Credits)* ENGL 101 - Critical Reading and Writing I (3 Credits)* ENGL 102 - Critical Reading and Writing II 3 Credits)* MATH 115 - College Algebra (3 Credits)* At least one of the following courses: oO HIST 207 - US History to 1877 (3 Credits) oO HIST 208 - US History since 1877 (3 Credits) oO SCNC 103 - Contemporary Biology (4 Credits) The remaining credits should be selected from the following courses: 0000000 MATH 108 - Intro to College Math (3 Credits) ENGL 203- Survey of English Lit I (3 Credits) ENGL 204 - Survey of English Lit II (3 Credits) ENGL 205 - Survey of American Lit I (3 Credits) ENGL 206 - Survey of American Lit II (3 Credits) CART 101 - Intro to Public Speaking (3 Credits) POSC 203 - American National Government (3 Credits) For more information, please reaching out to the Director of Dual Enrollment/Credit - Rachel Clutter Rachel.Clutter@Glenville.edu or 304-462-6129 Required Courses (*)
