Grow Your Own WV - Teaching Pathway

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to establish a

collaborative relationship between Glenville State University (IHE)
and the Gilmer

(list county, PK-12 private school or home school)
Both parties to this MOU share the goal of collaboration and collective
responsibility to help high school students earn college and high school credits at
the same time by taking courses from the State’s public institutions of higher
education.

This agreement is to promote rigorous academic pursuits while providing more
opportunities for high school students to obtain college credit prior to high school
graduation.

THIS AGREEMENT COVERS THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS:

Before high school graduation:

e IHE partner will submit a crosswalk of transfer alignment between the core
education courses and required courses.

e IHE partner will provide support for adjunct faculty who teach the required
courses in the high school and ensure learning outcomes and assessments align
with the campus-based course.

¢ County and their partner IHE will clearly communicate and counsel/advise high
school students when choosing courses to ensure they are meeting state/county
high school graduation requirements as well as course requirements to

successfully complete Grow Your Own WV - Teaching .

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

e [HE partner and the identified county will collaborate to offer courses to
complete the approved pathway.

e List the core education course crosswalk applicable to the completion of the
Grow Your Own WV - Teaching Pathway (pathway) by the IHE (specific to each IHE and
its approved program of study).

e The grades from the above listed courses will be used to calculate the student’s
high school Grade Point Average (GPA) as well as their college/university GPA.

After high school graduation:

e Subject to the policy of the receiving IHE for acceptance of transfer credit,
successful completers of the high school phase of Grow Your Own WV - Teachingipathway)
are guaranteed that both the core curriculum (general education) content and
Grow Your Own WV - Teaching (pathway) dual credit course(s) listed above
will be accepted as transferable coursework that will meet program requirements
and lead to program completion.
