mountaineer net | Se. We WestVirginia University Memorandum of Understanding between Gilmer County Schools and the M3T Project related to Kelly Barr’s participation as an M3T Fellow For the term of August 2024 through July 2025 Please review below, and sign at the bottom of the document, or reach out to M3T project staff to discuss an alternate, optional agreement that would work better for your context. The Fellow’s participation in the M3T project is supported by the project; this MOU denotes how a district can opt to participate as a full partner in the M3T project network, Note that this agreement pertains to the 2024-2025 academic year and will be revisited for subsequent years. The M3T project will support and fund all of the Fellow’s involvement in the project, including: e Anannual fellowship stipend for all project activities (Note: Per NSF requirements, the Fellows school district agrees not to reduce the base salary of the Fellow while the fellowship stipend is being received) e = Travel and other costs for the Fellow to attend project meetings, which include events primarily outside of teachers’ contract time (e.g., summer institute, evening and weekend meetings), though also includes events such as the annual WYVCTM conference in March (substitute teacher costs covered by the M3T project through reimbursement to the district) e Travel and substitute teacher costs for intra- and inter-district classroom visits conducted by the Fellow For full district participation and partnership in the M3T project, Gilmer County Schools will support an M3T “Local Improvement Team” (LIT) to work with the Fellow; contribute to and benefit from the shared knowledge about mathematics teaching improvement from the statewide M3T network; and participate in providing feedback to the M3T project. Details of this support include: 1. Provide support for participating teachers (who are working with the Fellow) to engage on a M3T LIT for one hour weekly (on average) from the start of the year through April (about 20-25 total hours). Extra duty pay to support out-of-school meeting time should be provided (or equivalent meeting time made available during the school day), 2. Provide one substitute per semester for team peer classroom observation visits and/or between-district visits. 3. Dedicate at least one administrator as the primary contact with the M3T project to attend quarterly virtual meetings, communicate with M3T project staff, to connect with other key personnel in your schools and district, to give feedback to M3T project staff about benefits and barriers to this work, and to help identify and suggest solutions. 4. Support the distribution of M3T project surveys to teachers, students, and administrators. Celebrate the M3T LIT’s efforts and innovations within and outside your district. 6. Optional, additional support can include: funding for LIT participants to attend the WVCTM conference in March and the M3T in-person whole network meeting in September; additional meeting time allotted for LIT collaboration. Un The M3T project will also make available materials and training from the project’s networked improvement learning to districts supporting additional participating teachers (beyond just the Fellow). M3T project staff will also engage in quarterly virtual administrative and coaching meetings with all participating districts to hear feedback and suggest resources. The undersigned have reviewed this MOU and accept it as the basis for working together in support of the Fellow, the Fellow’s development as a mathematics teacher and teacher leader, and the Fellow’s work supporting improvement in mathematics teaching and learning in their local school and district context.
