RE-LAUNCH: JCS RESPECT/CIVILITY THEMED-MONTHS

JCS Honors the diversity, cultures, and traditions that make up our school
community! Honoring Diversity creates an enriched environment for learning!

Current CUE Advocates/Ambassadors collaborated during a two-day summer professional learning session to
comprehensively update, revise, and enhance the county's Respect/Civility themed-months initiative.

Adding an authentic international lens CUE welcomes the voices and perspectives of our new Filipino, Jamaican, and
Zimbabwean teachers.

'‘Appalachian/West Virginia History' focus added! Dedicated to celebrating the rich heritage and contributions of the
Appalachian community, with a focus on West Virginia History.

Transformative session workshops aimed at deeply exploring and highlighting the profound benefits of embracing
cultural diversity, belonging, and inclusion within our schools.

Rooted in the latest educational research, this interactive and engaging professional development modeled culturally
and linguistically responsive learning and teaching strategies. These strategies affirm the positive impact of fostering a
culturally inclusive environment on students' academic, social, and behavioral development.

CUE Advocates refined the monthly ‘choice board,’ an activity resource which can be utilized in classrooms or across
the school to effectively implement our commitment to celebrating and embracing diverse cultures.
