PROGRAM EVALUATION

Testing Program

—The recormmmendationdistrict will tretide-a-prepeseddevelop a
schedule for all assessment activities to be conducted during the year. In its review, the eeramittee-district will consider
sueh-facters-as:
A. Cost. Do the start-up costs associated with the proposed assessment materials fit within current budget constraints?
What is the plan to pay for the ongoing costs (personnel, technology, materials, training, etc.) of the assessment?

B. Alignment. How well do the proposed assessment materials align with state and national standards?

C. Validity. Do the proposed assessment materials measure the district's objectives? Are the items compatible with the
district scope and sequence?

D. Administration. How much time does it take to administer and score the assessments? Are directions clear for the
teacher and for the students? Is the format attraettveappropriate? What are the implications for technology?

E. Interpretation of Results. Are results reported in a form that is meaningful to the teacher, the student, the
district, and parents?

should be distributed to individual schools by the start of the school year. The district office will determine who is
responsible for ordering tests, setting up electronic assessments, distributing materials and scoring sheets, and distributing
administration instructions to the schools.

After tests have been scored, the district office and/or building administrators are responsible for:
A. Preparing summary reports on test results for board, instructional staff, parents/guardians and the general public;

B. Interpreting scores for staff and interested persons;

C. Disseminating individual scores or providing electronic access to scores for staff responsible for counseling, screening
and special placement of individuals; and

D. Preparing reports to evaluate curriculum and assist staff in implementing changes and improvements in curriculum.
After tests have been scored, teachers are responsible for:


A. Reviewing their students results and using the results to inform classroom instruction;
B. Using the results to identify students in need of additional assistance;
C. Providing interventions or referring students for additional support or testing as appropriate; and

D. Communicating and/or interpreting the results for parents and guardians (and students, when applicable).
