3240 Anaphylaxis Prevention and Response: This policy puts in place that trained school personnel may provide emergency care by administering epinephrine auto injectors to respond to a student anaphylaxis emergency. The state has now provided a standing order which allows schools to have a school supplied dose of epinephrine on hand and the change in policy allows the school supply to be used for a diagnosed student if their auto injector is not readily available or use the school supply to be used for an undiagnosed anaphylaxis event. This policy does not change the responsibility of the parent to inform and provide medical supplies to the school for their diagnosed student.
