County and Institution of Higher Education
Articles of Agreement for
University Student Pre-service Teachers, Interns and Residents

This agreement made on the first day of August, 2024 by and between Glenville State University and the
Boone County Board of Education is for the purpose of setting forth the responsibilities of the Institution of Higher
Education and the County Board of Education regarding field placements, internships/student teaching and
residency and shall be a continuing agreement between both parties through the 2024-2025 academic year.

I. The Institution of Higher Education

A.

Gy

Affirms that all students are bonafide students of the institution requesting placement in
the county.

Affirms that all students will be placed at the teaching stations by following the county’s
procedure for securing proper placement and selection of professionally certified partner
teachers.

Affirms that all students placed have met the minimum course work required at the level
appropriate for pre-service experience(s).

Affirms that the student interns/student teachers and residents will be properly supervised by
Institution of Higher Education personnel.

Affirms that Institution of Higher Education personnel will consult with proper county school
administrators and teachers on the progress or lack of progress of pre-service teachers,
interns/student teachers and residents.

Affirms that any compensation for honorariums for teachers of cooperating schools is consistent
throughout the county.

Honorariums will be no more than $100 per placement (7 % weeks) for interns/student teachers.
Honorariums for residents in Residency | (3 days per week for one semester) will be no more than
5125 and honorariums for residents in Residency Il (S days per week for one semester) will be no
more than $175.

II. The County Board of Education

A.

Affirms that it will permit pre-service teachers, student interns/student teachers and residents to
practice teaching and become involved in other educational activities in the county to permit
broadening the students’ experience.

Affirms that it will place all pre-service teachers, student interns/student teachers and residents
on the Board’s agenda and make their presence and assignment(s) in the county a part of the
Board minutes, thereby recognizing their official acceptance in the county.

Provide adequate counseling/in-service for the pre-service teachers, student interns/student
teachers and residents by addressing county and building policy to enhance students’ knowledge
of the system and the rules and regulations under which all employees must comply in carrying
out their regular duties.

D. Affirms that it will cooperate with personnel from the Institution of Higher Education in the
selection of the site(s) for the pre-service and internship/residency experiences.

E. Affirms that if a conflict shall arise during the student’s practice teaching experience, that
appropriate Institution of Higher Education personnel will be contacted to resolve said problem
in an amenable manner, with minimal trauma to students, the student intern/student teacher or
resident, and staff members.

This agreement is signed by both parties and shall become effective as dated below:
