Approved the quote ($24,999.59) submitted by eSpecial Needs for equipment, delivery, and installation of a Sensory Classroom
at Brookview Elementary.

This room would allow occupational therapists, physical therapists, applied behavioral specialists, and teachers to work with
students. The need for a sensory room at Brookview Elementary is very high. The number of students with severe disabilities
continues to grow and more and more students are unable to regulate their emotions, and their behaviors. This room would

provide a safer environment for all.

6.21 Teacher Induction Program Coach

Approved posting an instructional coach position for the teacher induction program. This person will develop and oversee the
implementation of the teacher induction program for Boone County Schools. This will involve working with new teachers
extensively throughout the school year, including presenting and organizing professional development sessions, visiting new
teachers and coaching them in-person, reviewing lesson plans, modeling best instructional practices, and working with hired
mentors across the county to assist new teachers in their transition to the classroom and district.

10.1 Mr. Riggs distributed a packet of summary information of Boone County Schools performance on the 2024 Summative
Assessment from the spring. (Packet distributed)

Highlights

« County rankings
e Reading - Moved up a spot (last year 26 - this year 25)
« Math - Dropped a few spots (40 now)

e Reading
o 5 out of 7 elementary schools were at or above the state average for 3rd grade
o 4 out of 7 elementary schools were at or above the state average for 4th and 5th grade
© 2 out of 3 middle schools were at or above the state average for 8th grade

e Math
o 3 out of 7 elementary schools were at or above the state average for 3rd and 4th grade

3rd grade had the biggest percentage gain when you compare 3rd grade this year to 3rd grade last year- 50%
proficient jast year and 55% this year

The biggest dip - 8th grade math - went from 20% to 14% this year

e Reading was about where it was last year - little growth
o Math was about the same as last year

» SAT - 95 students met proficiency in reading and writing - 16 student were approaching, meaning they were close. Would
be huge if they could move up. Three were approaching for the math.
