The New Teacher Induction Program Summer Training
Dates: August 6, 2025 and August 7, 2025
Location: Boone Career and Technical Center Auditorium

Participants: First-year, second-year teachers along with assigned long-term substitute teachers
in the New Teacher Induction Program

Funding: Step 7d

Cost:

$200 a day for participants with an estimated 30 participants for a total of $12,000
2 hours of planning time for presenters at $25/hour

3 hours of paid time at $25/hour for those presenting not currently working within their
contracted days

Focus: The comprehensive summer training will familiarize new educators with county leaders,
policies, and critical operational information. Additionally, participants will receive targeted
professional development in the following areas:

e Schoology LMS
ViewSonic Technology

e Student Engagement Strategies

e Special Education Procedures

e Phase } (Pre-teaching) segments of both the Classroom and Rigor tracks as outlined in
the attached instructional coaching timeline

Phase 1 of the Classroom Management track will focus on establishing foundational routines and
procedures, while Phase 1 of the Rigor track will guide teachers in developing effective lesson
plans.

Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Identify and implement key county policies and procedures relevant to their roles.
Utilize Schoology and ViewSonic technology to support classroom instruction.
Apply strategies to increase student engagement and participation.

Demonstrate understanding of special education processes and legal requirements.
Establish essential classroom routines and procedures to support a positive learning
environment.

Create and refine lesson plans aligned with instructional rigor and best practices.
