David Decker — Contingency Funds Request David Decker, Principal at Lincoln High School, needs to have his baseball out field fencing replaced. Lincoln High General Athletic Fund would pay $7,200 and | would request that contingency funds pay $7,200. $14,400 was the low bid. C. John Paul Nardelli — Healthy Harrison John Paul Nardelli, from Healthy Harrison, presented checks to the following schools: Bridgeport Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, South Harrison Middle School, Mountaineer Middle School and Washington Irving Middle School. D. James Vanscoy — Family Fun Extravaganza James Vanscoy, Owner of Cartoon Headquarters, presented to the Board regarding Family Fun Extravaganza Event held on May 30th - June 1st. E. Consolidation and Merger Update Pam Knight, Administrative Assistant of Secondary Education; John Rogers, Principal, Mountaineer Middle School; Susan Ferrell, Principal, WI Middle School; Jamie Looker, Principal, Robert C. Byrd High School; and Robert Herrod, Principal, Liberty High School provided updates to the Board regarding the following: e The consolidation of WI Middle School and Mountaineer Middle School into the Liberty High School building. e The merger between Liberty High School and Robert C. Byrd High School. 4. DELEGATIONS A. Delegations Bob Davis — Superintendent for Clarksburg Water Board, Trenton Mosher — Student in Program, Bobby Fazini — Director of Distribution for Clarksburg Water Board --- MOU between Harrison County Schools and the Clarksburg Water Board 112 DRAFT 5. SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE A. Superintendent's Update The Superintendent will update the Board on the following: 1. Curriculum & Technology — | appreciate the new secondary curriculum specialist, she was complimented while Mrs. Stutler was out visiting schools. Mrs. Stutler also thanked the folks for getting all the stuff in order for the schools moving. Waiver was not approved so June 2, 3 & 4 will be added to the end of the year. June 5" will be teachers last day. Next years Calendar will be put out as well. 2. Facilities — Nutter Fort’s roof is 95% finished, should be done this week. Mark Miller is coming to review our sites for the MIP application Mrs. Stutler applied for sometime after spring break. Bus routes for consolidation will be finished 1% part of May. RCB and MMS are on target to be finished. Finance — 109 employees met with our insurance rep. Amanda Sims at the schools. Personnel — Safety & Health — Mrs. Stutler is asking Jason Snider and Todd Poole to present in a future meeting about an update on safety. 6. United Technical Center Update — Doug Hogue — UTC Graduation will be May 15" held at the Robinson Grand at 6PM. 370 Enrollment. 12 Students should be recognized at upcoming Board Meeting. 7. Miscellaneous — Survey update — The first phase was the survey, now the next phase is focus groups. Which will happen in May. 6 of them. Also, schools will continue to have free lunches. aR 6. CONSENT ITEMS A. Meeting Minutes The minutes from the April 1, 2025, Special Meeting- Personnel Hearings and the April 1, 2025, Regular Meeting were presented to the Superintendent for Board approval. Once approved, it will be made available to the public. Motion to approve the consent items as presented by the Superintendent. Motion by Mary Frances Smith, second by Jenny Saniilli. NEW BUSINESS A. Jamie Looker and Robert Herrod — Request for Contingency Funds Motion to approve request for contingency funds to assist with trophy cases that would highlight trophies and memorabilia from Liberty High School for a cost of $6,375 Motion by Mary Frances Smith, second by Jenny Saniilli. David Decker — Request for Contingency Funds Motion to approve request for contingency funds to assist with replacing fence in baseball outfield at Lincoln High School for a cost of $7,200 Motion by Doug Hogue, second by Tom Tucker. Mountaineer Elementary Playgrounds Recommend Davis Athletics, LLC to furnish and install two playgrounds at Mountaineer Elementary School at a total cost of $308,790.01 through the TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Co- Op contract #24070201 Motion by Mary Frances Smith, second by Jenny Saniilli. Purchases of maintenance vehicles from Mid-State Ford Recommend the purchase order to be issued to Mid-State Ford for the purchase of two maintenance vans at a total cost of $115,562.00 Motion by Tom Tucker, second by Jenny Saniilli. Change Order for Bridgeport High School and Bridgeport Middle School Boiler Replacement Project A motion to approve Change Order #2 from City Construction in the amount of $75,000 to furnish and install controls and to extend time due to manufacturer delay. Revised total cost of the project is $736,415. Motion by Jenny Santilli, second by Tom Tucker. Personnel Matters Motion was made at 8:12 p.m., pursuant to 6-9A-4(2) of the West Virginia Code, that the board go into executive session to discuss personnel and personnel matters which, if discussed in public, might affect adversely the reputation of any person. Board Members Comments Tom Tucker — | think | mentioned it earlier all these presentations leave them until the end so we have a room here that at least gets to hear what a board meeting is. Thank all those that did come tonight and for the folks that presented too. Congratulations to all those winners appreciate that very much. Doug Hogue — Children of peace, go in peace. Dr. Jenny Santilli— | was able to go to the chicken auction at Bridgeport High School for FFA. We had a ball. | got a picture with the chicken. | did not buy anything. | also went to RCB’s play Little Shop of Horrors. | was blown away. Absolutely amazing and Friday night | went to the T- Saw Conference that’s for our ELL teachers. | got to work with three of our Harrison County teachers. Really, really good ideas on some things that we could do that aren't going to cost anything that will help our language learners. Mary Frances Smith — | just want to reiterate what | said earlier about I’m really excited about the administrators that came to speak tonight. | applaud their positive attitude and the support from their staff. | think it’s great. I’m excited. | can’t wait for it to happen and | hope it continues to grow and the excitement build. | hope the kids in the community are just as excited as the staff and the administration. Frank Devono Jr. — | would like to thank you all for working together for working together with all of us. As Board members we all do this for the real reason it’s supposed to be done.
